Hosick and Hernandez Sweep MAC Weekly Awards

OXFORD – On Tuesday afternoon, the Mid-American Conference released the Player and Pitcher of the Week awards. This week, two members of the Miami University softball team were honored. Danitza Hernandez was awarded Player of the Week and Presley Hosick was named Pitcher of the Week.
Hernandez hit .474 (9-for-19) over seven games, recording seven runs and 10 RBI. She posted a .583 on-base percentage and a .947 slugging percentage for a 1.530 OPS. Hernandez totaled five extra-base hits, including three doubles and two home runs, added four walks with just one strikeout and one stolen base.
Hosick posted a 1.19 ERA and a 3–1 record over five appearances, including four starts, four complete games, and one shutout, totaling 29.1 innings pitched. Her only loss came against Ole Miss, last year's College World Series participant. Over the weekend, she threw three complete games with no earned runs against Radford, Campbell and Iowa, allowing nine hits, four walks, and striking out 11. Hosick held opponents to a .209 batting average and allowed only five earned runs across all appearances.
