RedHawks Head to Eastern Michigan For Tuesday Evening Contest

TUESDAY: The RedHawks get back on the road at Eastern Michigan Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+. The Red and White enter this Tuesday's game as the only remaining undefeated team in the country with a 27-0 (14-0 MAC) record, its best start to a season in program history. Miami holds a new program record for wins in a season, breaking the mark of 25 established last year. The RedHawks have also secured the best start for a program in MAC history (originally set by WMU in 1975-76 at 19-0) and the longest win streak in MAC history (originally set by Kent State in 2001-02 at 21-0).Â
ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN: Eastern Michigan is currently 10-18 (4-11 MAC), as the Eagles are coming off of a 75-94 loss at Toledo. Eastern Michigan went 16-16 (9-9 MAC) last year. Head coach Stan Heath is in his fifth season with the Eagles. Heading into the 2025-26 season, Eastern Michigan was selected to finish ninth overall in the 2025-26 MAC Coaches' Preseason Men's Basketball Poll. Redshirt freshman forward Mohammad Habhab (14.3) and redshirt senior forward Addison Patterson (13.7) lead the Eagles in points. Habhab also leads the team in rebounds (8.4/game), assists (3.2/game) and blocks (1.4/game). Patterson has recorded the most steals as well (1.2/game).
THE SERIES WITH THE EAGLES: This Tuesday's away contest versus Eastern Michigan will be the 88th meeting between the two programs. The RedHawks lead the series 57-30 all-time, as the Red and White are 22-18 when playing the Eagles in Ypsilanti. Miami is currently on a one-game winning streak versus EMU, as the RedHawks' last victory (81-75) came in the MAC Tournament on March 13, 2025.

RECENT ACTION: Luke Skaljac poured in a career-high 24 points, and Miami led for more than 36 minutes en route to a 91-77 victory over Bowling Green Friday in front of a crowd of 10,127 at Millett Hall. Eian Elmer added 21 points and a career-high five steals for the RedHawks, who move to 27-0 (14-0 MAC) and extend the best start to a season in conference history. Peter Suder and Antwone Woolfolk chipped in 10 points apiece to help Miami to its 30th consecutive home win.
NATIONAL RANKINGS: Miami improved to No. 21 overall in the Associated Press Top 25 men's college basketball poll on Monday, Feb. 23. The Red and White moved into the national rankings for the first time since Feb. 15, 1999 on Monday, Jan 19. The RedHawks are the first team from the MAC selected in the poll since the 2018-19 Buffalo Bulls. Miami retained its highest ranking of the 2025-26 season on the Mid-Major Top 25® Poll, as Collegeinsider announced its newest poll last Monday, with the RedHawks ranked No. 2 overall.
MAC POTW: The MAC announced its weekly men's basketball awards this week, and Miami's Luke Skaljac was recognized as MAC Co-Player of the Week. The Brecksville, Ohio native propelled Miami to a pair of wins against UMass and Bowling Green to remain undefeated (27-0, 14-0 MAC). In 31.9 minutes per game, Skaljac averaged 20.0 points, 6.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal. He also shot 14-of-25 (56.0%) from the field, 6-of-13 (46.2%) from the three-point line and 6-of-7 (85.7%) from the free-throw line over the two games. Skaljac set a new career high with 24 points vs. BGSU.
