No. 20 Miami to Host No. 9 Minnesota Duluth in Key NCHC Series

No. 20/RV Miami will play its final regular-season home games this weekend, hosting No. 9/9 Minnesota Duluth in a crucial NCHC series. The RedHawks are 17-11-2, 8-10-2 NCHC after a pair of one-goal losses at No. 3 North Dakota (1-0, 4-3 [OT]). The Bulldogs, who were idle last week, are 18-12-0, 9-11-0 NCHC and have lost five of their last six games, all to teams ranked above them in the national polls. The fourth-place Bulldogs and sixth-place RedHawks are separated by just three points in the race for home ice.Â
This week's games at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena will start at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 and 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21. These start times are both earlier than initially scheduled. The games will be broadcast on NCHC.tv, with tape-delayed coverage airing on ROCK Entertainment Sports Network. Some Gray TV affiliates will carry Saturday's game live. Greg Waddell (play-by-play), Drew Davis (analyst) and David Ventura (rinkside) have the call;Â audio coverage both nights will be available on MiamiRedHawks.com.
Kocha Delic (10-11-21) leads Miami in points, just ahead of Maximilion Helgeson (10-10-20) and Matteo Giampa (9-11-20). David Deputy (14-5-19) has a team-high 14 goals, while Vladislav Lukashevich (2-16-18) tops Miami in assists. The RedHawks have benefited from balanced scoring all season, with 11 different players between 14 and 21 points on the year. Matteo Drobac has started all but one game in net and is 16-11-2 with a 2.57 GAA and .916 save %.
Miami will recognize six players during Saturday's Senior Day pregame ceremony: Kyle Aucoin, Nick Donato, Helgeson, Owen Lalonde, Blake Mesenburg and Brayden Morrison. They own a total of 46 points in 297 combined appearances for the RedHawks since Donato first joined the program in 2021.
Morrison and head coach Anthony Noreen met with the media this week to preview the games against the Bulldogs.
