HOW IT HAPPENED
- 5:21 1st (Miami 1-0) | Miami opened the scoring on a Deputy power-play goal. Quinn fed Casper Nassen on his left, and Nassen sent a pass into the middle that Deputy redirected perfectly past Omaha's Dawson Cowan to make it 1-0.
- 6:53 1st (Miami 2-0) | 92 seconds later, the RedHawks doubled their lead. Bradley Walker looped a long pass over the Mavericks' heads that Doug Grimes poked perfectly past the final defender before lunging to knock it into the net one-handed. Ethan Hay had the second assist.
- 17:27 1st (Miami 3-0) | Deputy grabbed his second power-play goal of the stanza, as a long shot by Quinn from the blue line deflected off the freshman winger in front. Deputy and Kocha Delic both were in position to screen Cowan as Miami made it 3-0. Nassen picked up an assist on the play as well.
- 8:27 2nd (Miami 4-0) | Deputy's third goal of the night came shorthanded, as Michael Phelan sent the puck out from behind his own goal and Griffin Ludtke was unable to play it cleanly for the visitors. Ethan Hay sent a pass ahead to spring Deputy on a breakaway, and Deputy made an impressive move to finish past Cowan for a 4-0 cushion.
- 10:32 2nd (Omaha 4-1) | Omaha got on the board near the midway point of the contest, as Myles Hilman spun away from a RedHawk defender and sent the puck into the middle. Cameron Briere tipped it and Sean Tschigerl knocked it in to trim the Miami lead to 4-1.
- 1:59 3rd (Omaha 4-2) | The Mavericks pulled within two early in the final frame as Spencer Sova received a pass from Ludtke along the blue line and sent a shot in that Hilman tipped home past Matteo Drobac.
- 2:17 3rd (Miami 5-2) | The RedHawks answered back in a matter of seconds when Nicholas Mikan fired a shot from the middle of the offensive zone and John Emmons was in the right place to quickly clean up the rebound and score.
- 13:19 3rd (Miami 6-2) | Maximilion Helgeson added an insurance goal with 6:41 to play, diving to backhand a rebound into the net after a Quinn shot from along the wall. Ryan Smith had the second assist.
