Herbet Recognized as MAC Swimmer of Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio —The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced its Women's Swimming and Diving weekly awards Tuesday afternoon, and Miami's Kaylin Herbet was named MAC Swimmer of the Week.
Herbet had a dominant weekend at Oakland, against Oakland University and Denison University. She finished first in the 50 free (22.93), the 100 free (49.84) and the 200 free (1:48.78), posting season-best times for each. Additionally, she participated in three relays, helping the RedHawks take first place in the 200 free relay, the 400 free relay and the 400-medley relay. Herbet recorded times of 22.49 in the 200 free relay (Anchor leg), 49.17 in the 400 free relay (Anchor leg) and 54.10 in the 400-medley relay (fly leg).
The RedHawks are back in action Friday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. for a home meet at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
