Men's Swimming and Diving Finishes Second at MVC Championship

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Miami University men's swimming and diving team finished in second place among eight teams at the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship on Saturday, as the RedHawks scored 1,394.5 points. Other placements included Missouri State in first (1,446.5 points), Southern Illinois in third (1,189.5 points), UMass in fourth (925.5 points), Ball State in fifth (878.5 points), UIC in sixth (831.5 points), Evansville in seventh (397 points) and Valparaiso in eighth (383 points).
Allen Cotton was named the the MVC Swimmer of the Year. All-Conference First Team honors were given to Tegan Barrier, Cotton, Owen Hoban, Brady Miller, Jensen Nelson, Ian Rodrigues-Kmiliauskis, Elijah Rolfsen and Duncan Salmen. All-Conference Honorable mentions included Cotton, Hoban, Paul Hong, Noam Kulbak, Bryce Menchhofer, Brady Miller, Michal Piela, William Pugh, Rodrigues-Kmiliauskis, Rolfsen, Pablo Silva and Drew Watson.
How it Happened:
Allen Cotton was named the the MVC Swimmer of the Year. How it Happened:
- The meet started with the 1650-yard freestyle, where Rolfsen finished first, clocking a time of 15:04.27 (NCAA qualifying).
- Up next was the 200-yard backstroke, where Nelson finished first, breaking his own program and MVC record that was set a year ago with a time of 1:42.88.
- Salmen led the charge in the 100-yard freestyle, as he finished first after earning a time of 43.37.
- After that was the 200-yard breaststroke, where Silva had the strongest finish for the RedHawks, as he posted a time of 1:58.47.
- Swimming events concluded with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where the men claimed a third-place finish with a combined time of 2:55.50.
