TERRE HAUTE, Ind.– The Miami RedHawks traveled to Indiana State University to compete in the John McMichols Invitational Saturday morning. The men's and women's teams both took first place in today's meet. The Miami men had 41 points, and the RedHawk women finished with 37 points. Washington University and Indiana State followed the RedHawk men in the team scores. Indiana State and Washington University finished second and third behind the RedHawk women.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Chris Perkins led the pack for the RedHawks, finishing second out of 168 runners with an 8000m time of 24:48.56. Luke Mussard also finished in the top five, placing fifth with a time of 25:10.77.
- Other RedHawk finishers were Tom Heal (25:19.10), Petros Sanchez (25:20.07), Josh Razor (25:42.19), Evan Jarold (25:42.25), Ben Fahnestock (25:42.95), Weston Naville (25:52.33), Taman Chokshi (26:14.64), Anton Martinez (26:30.23), Adrian Stechschulte (26:52.77) and Nick Dunn (27:53.88).
- Marisa Heil won the women's 6000m race with a time of 21:20.95. Ava Nuttall finished second out of 120 runners, finishing the race in 21:23.07.
- Cara Razavi (22:08.57) and Nora Zubillaga (22:22.16) finished in the top 10, placing seventh and 10th, respectively. Linda Conchetto (22:44.24), Cara Naas (23:00.45) and Emma Berres (23:54.01) also raced for the RedHawks.
