Two RedHawks Named Krampade All-American Scholars

OXFORD, Ohio— The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) honored varsity ice hockey players who compiled exceptional results in the classroom during the 2024-25 season with this week's announcement of the annual "Krampade All-American Scholars."

Two Miami University student-athletes, Zane Demsey and John Emmons, were among the honorees for the most recent season. Demsey, a defenseman from Harrison Twp., Mich., earned a 3.94 GPA in each semester last year as an accountancy major in the Farmer School of Business. Emmons, a forward from Washington, Mich., is majoring in Finance in the Farmer School of Business, posting a 3.95 GPA in the fall and a 3.86 in the spring.

To qualify for this award, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.
