Our list continues today with Ella Scally becoming Miami's first-ever All-American in the women's long jump.
Ella Scally finished off an impressive junior season by placing 22nd in the country in the long jump (5.92m) to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors
on Thursday, June 12 in Eugene, Ore. Scally qualified for the national championships by turning in a top-10 performance at the NCAA East First Round in Jacksonville, posting a mark of 6.17 meters.
She won gold in the long jump at the MAC Indoor Championships
on Feb. 28 to join
Abby Suszek (400m) as First-Team All-MAC performers, marking the first time since 2011 the RedHawks captured first place in multiple individual events at that meet. She brought home a bronze medal in long jump from the MAC Outdoor Championships, one of three top-five finishes at the meet for the Academic All-MAC honoree. Scally finished first in the long jump in nine consecutive meets between the indoor and outdoor seasons and was twice named MAC Field Athlete of the Week. The Fishers, Ind. native also set the indoor school record in the long jump (6.27m) this year and now ranks second in program history on the outdoor list (6.29m).
