Dev Honored With Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars Award

FAIRFAX, Va. – Sarah Dev, a senior on the Miami University tennis team, has been awarded the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars Award, given annually as an effort to recognize outstanding young minority men and women who have distinguished themselves in their academic and athletic pursuits. Dev was selected as the top female tennis nomination in the country.
 
Dev currently maintains a 3.62 grade-point average, while majoring in organizational leadership. This season, Dev has recorded a 25-17 overall record, picking up 13 wins in singles competition. Throughout her career, she has recorded 65 wins and was named Academic All-MAC after the 2023-24 season.
 
In addition to their athletic ability, those named 2025 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars have maintained at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, are at least sophomores academically, and have been active on their campuses or in their communities. 
Of the nearly 700 scholar-athletes nominated, one male and one female athlete will be selected as Sports Scholar of the Year. Eight finalists will be named later this year.
