DAYTON, Ohio – The RedHawks lost to the Wright State Raiders 11-3 Tuesday in a single-game series.
Dominic Krupinski hit his second homer of the season during the third inning. Wright State moves to 4-6 with the win while Miami falls to 5-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders struck first, taking a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the bottom of the first.
- Wright State made it 2-0 in the bottom of the second with another solo home run.
- Miami cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the third as Dominic Krupinski hit his second home run of the season.
- The RedHawks tied the game 2-2 in the top of the fourth. Evan Appelwick doubled to right field. Two groundouts allowed him to advance and score.
- Wright State regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth after hitting a grand slam that made it a 7-2 game.
- Miami scored one run in the top of the sixth to make it 7-3. They loaded the bases with a hit, fielder's choice, two walks and Blake Buzzeo took an RBI HBP.
- Wright State scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to round out an 11-3 final score after a bases-loaded sac fly and a bases-loaded double.
MIAMI GAME NOTES:
- Ty Batusich went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
- Krupinski went 1-for-2 with a home run.
UP NEXT:
Miami opens up conference play this weekend with a three game home series against the Toledo Rockets. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at McKie field.
