RedHawks Sweep Broncos; Stay Undefeated in Conference

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On Saturday afternoon the Miami University softball team completed the sweep over Western Michigan University with a 3-1 win. The Red and White improve to 19-15 (9-0 Mid-American Conference). Western Michigan drops to 8-23 (2-4 MAC).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the top of the first, Chloe Parks hit a 2-RBI single to center field to score Shelby Kunkel and Kaylee Oh and take a 2-0 lead for the RedHawks.
  • A solo homer from Erin Pinter in the top of the second extended the RedHawk lead to 3-0.
  • In the bottom of the sixth, a solo homer from the Broncos put them on the board, making it a 3-1 game.
  • But, the Broncos could not come back, giving the RedHawks the 3-1 victory.
 
NOTES:
  • Mckenna Campbell went 3-for-3 at the plate.
  • Pinter went 2-for-3 at the plate.
  • Parks reached 100 career RBI.
  • Madilyn Reeves pitched the complete game, striking out six and allowing just one run. 

UP NEXT: The RedHawks return to Oxford, Ohio to face the University of Toledo in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. on April, 1.
