Miami Prepares for National Synchronized Skating Competition

OXFORD, Ohio — This weekend, the Miami Synchronized Skating teams will have two skates to help prepare them for the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. The Championships start Friday, February 28 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Miami's senior team will skate during intermission at the Miami Hockey game on Friday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase here. Both the senior and collegiate teams will host a Nationals Send-Off Exhibition on Saturday, February 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Goggin Ice Center. Admission is free.

- With the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships coming up next weekend, both Miami teams have been hard at work preparing for the final skate of the season.
- After a strong showing in Mentor, Ohio last week, the Collegiate team hopes to build on their two-event winning streak and take home gold in Colorado.
- The Red and White Collegiate team has won the championship each of the last three years and looks forward to making it four in a row.
- After taking home Bronze at last year's Championships, the Senior team looks to get back into the top two and earn a chance to compete at the World Synchronized Skating Championships.
- Long-time Miami coach Vicki Korn will be inducted into the Cradle of Coaches this weekend. The Miami Skating program will recognize her during the Nationals Send-Off on Saturday, February 22.
