SALT LAKE CITY, Utah— The Miami University synchronized skating teams concluded a successful showing at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships Saturday, highlighted by the collegiate team capturing its fifth-straight national championship and 24th all-time title. The RedHawks' senior team earned a bronze medal with a third-place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Miami collegiate team's rendition of 'Thriller' in the free skate earned a field-leading score of 122.81 to secure the gold.
Miami's collegiate performance featured an executed element score of 60.15 and a program score of 62.66.
The Red and White claimed the national title with a record-setting score of 122.81, followed by the University of Michigan earning second place (107.42), and Western Michigan University taking third (105.46).
The Miami senior team returned to the ice Saturday for its 'Le Freak'-themed free skate, posting a segment score of 133.55, the third-highest mark in the six-team field.
With both the short and free skate combined, Miami finished with a total score of 203.93, placing third overall in the senior standings.
