RedHawks Travel to EMU For Tuesday Evening Contest

TUESDAY: Miami continues conference play at Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Entering this game, the RedHawks rank fifth nationally in three-point percentage (.397), sixth in effective field goal percentage (.574), 12th in threes per game (10.4), 18th in field goal percentage (.488), 30th in scoring offense (81.4), 33rd in turnovers forced per game (14.64) and 49th in turnover margin (2.4). Miami also leads the MAC in seven statistical categories, including steals per game (8.1).

RECENT ACTION: The Miami University men's basketball team fell to Western Michigan Saturday afternoon 78-70 in Kalamazoo. Brant Byers led Miami with 19 points, while two other RedHawks scored in double figures. Miami's bench outscored Western Michigan's 39 to 14. The RedHawks recorded 19 assists in comparison to nine assists from the Broncos. This loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Red and White.

ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN: Eastern Michigan is coming off a 13-18 (6-12 MAC) season in 2023-24. Head coach Stan Heath is in his fourth season with the Eagles. Heading into the 2024-25 season, the MAC Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll picked the Eagles to finish ninth in the conference.

Eastern Michigan is currently 12-13 (5-7 MAC), as the Eagles won their last game against Toledo 80-73 in Ypsilanti. The Eagles have four players who average double figures in scoring, which include Da'Sean Nelson (16.0), Jalen Terry (16.0), Christian Henry (14.6) and Jalin Billingsley (10.5). Henry leads the team in assists per game (3.3), and Terry follows closely behind (3.1). Terry has recorded the most steals per game (1.5) as well. Nelson has recorded the most rebounds each game (5.7) and also leads the Eagles with 1.0 blocks per contest.

THE SERIES WITH THE EAGLES: Tuesday will mark the 86th time Miami and Eastern Michigan have faced off. The RedHawks head into this game leading 56-29 in the series. The RedHawks have the advantage in Ypsilanti, 22-17. The last time Miami faced off with the Eagles, the Red and White secured an 89-80 win in Oxford on Jan. 28, 2025.
