RedHawks Return Home to Host Milligan Monday Afternoon

MONDAY: Miami returns home to host Milligan on Monday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. The Red and White enter this game with an 12-0 record, its best start to a season in program history. Miami ranks among the top of the nation in numerous statistical categories heading into this game, which includes being third in the country in effective field goal percentage (0.618), third in three-point percentage (41.5), seventh in field goal percentage (52.6), 11th in scoring margin (21.5), 12th in scoring offense (91.8), 16th in threes per game (11.2), 31st in defensive rebounds per game (28.42), 41st in bench points per game (33.25) and 43rd in free throw percentage (76.3).
ABOUT MILLIGAN: Milligan is currently 3-10 (2-5 AAC), as the Buffaloes are currently on a seven-game losing streak. Milligan went 22-10 (14-6 AAC) last year. Head coach Bill Robinson is in his 17th season with the Buffaloes. Heading into the 2025-26 season, Milligan was selected to finish in a tie for fourth overall in the 2025-26 AAC Coaches' Preseason Men's Basketball Poll.Â
Senior guard Elijah Bredwood (22.3/game), junior forward Te'Jon McDaniel-McCormic (12.2/game) and freshman guard Jake Benham (10.6/game) lead the Buffaloes with double figures in scoring. McDaniel-McCormic also leads the team in rebounds (9.2/game), assists (3.2/game), steals (1.7/game) and blocks (0.6/game).Â

RECENT ACTION: The Miami University men's basketball team took down Ball State 86-77 at Worthen Arena to earn its first conference victory on Saturday afternoon. Almar Atlason led all players with 26 points, while Eian Elmer (20), Brant Byers (16) and Peter Suder (10) added double digits in scoring. This is the fifth consecutive game that Miami has shot at least 50% from the field. The RedHawks also went 13-of-24 (54.2%) from behind the arc (third time this season Miami has shot over 50% from beyond the arc) and shot 21-of-22 (95.5%) from the free-throw line (highest percentage since Nov. 11, 2024 at Appalachian State). Miami recorded 33 rebounds in comparison to just 24 from the Cardinals.
RANKINGS: The Miami University men's basketball team received four votes in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 men's college basketball poll on Monday, Dec. 15. The Red and White earned its highest ranking of the 2025-26 season on the Mid-Major Top 25® Poll, as Collegeinsider announced that the RedHawks ranked No. 3 overall this past Monday as well. The RedHawks are just one of six teams that are still undefeated at the Division I level (Iowa St., Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Miami and Michigan).
LOU HENSON AWARD EARLY SEASON WATCH LIST: CollegeInsider.com has announced the 'Early Season Watch List' for the 2025-26 Lou Henson Award, which is presented annually to the top player in mid-major Division I college basketball. Miami's Evan Ipsaro has been named to this watch list for his play this season. The junior guard is currently averaging a career-best in points (13.9/game), assists (3.2/game), rebounds (2.4/game) and steals (1.33/game).
SHARPSHOOTING: The RedHawks are currently shooting 52.6% from the field, 41.5% from the three-point line and 76.3% from the free-throw line.Â
GUARD PLAY: Senior Peter Suder (sixth in MAC/79th nationally), junior Evan Ipsaro (seventh in MAC/89th nationally) and sophomore Luke Skaljac (second in MAC/40th nationally) lead the RedHawks in assist turnover ratio. Skaljac leads the team with a ratio of 3.29, while Suder (2.69) and Ipsaro (2.60) follow closely behind.Â
