RedHawks Fall Just Short to Toledo in MAC Tournament

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio— The Miami University volleyball team (16-15, 10-8 MAC) fell to Toledo (21-10, 11-7 MAC) in a five-set match (25-21, 14-25, 25-19, 23-25, 11-15) on Friday night in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

This concludes the 2025 season for the Miami University volleyball team.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A trio of kills from Chelsea Williams kept the first set even at 3-3. An Ellie Hanson service ace gave the RedHawks their first lead of the day at 7-6. Numerous errors from the Rockets, including a block from Lauren Coyne and Lindy Radaszewski, extended Miami's lead to 12-7 and forced a Rockets timeout. A pair of kills from Williams, as well as a block from Raegan Lantz and Gentry Warrick, gave Miami its largest lead of the first set at 19-12. Toledo closed within just three points at 20-17, but Molly Creech answered with two kills to fend off the Rockets' attack. A bad set and a service error from Toledo handed Miami a 25-21 first-set win.
- Another strong start from Williams in the second set kept Miami in the fight at 4-3, as she put down two kills. The Rockets looked to pull away at 7-4 until the RedHawks scored three straight points to even the score at seven apiece. The Rockets managed to take control of the set once again at 12-8 and went on to stretch their advantage to 17-10. Two kills from Lantz and an Anna McClure service ace put the score at 22-14. Toledo ultimately went on to claim the second set 25-14.
- With the score tied at 4-4 in the third set, Miami rattled off a 6-0 run to push ahead 10-4. Toledo eventually shrunk the RedHawk lead to 14-12 when Williams and Creech combined for five kills to regain control of the set at 19-15. A Hayden Hicks service ace, Coyne kill and Radaszewski kill handed Miami a third-set win at 25-19.
- Three early kills from Williams propelled Miami to a 4-1 lead in the fourth set. The Rockets answered with six straight points to move ahead 7-4. A solo block from Lantz brought Miami back within one at 8-7 and the RedHawks still trailed by one at 14-13 after a Warrick kill. The Red and White knotted the score at 15-15 and used back-to-back kills to reclaim a 17-15 lead. A flurry of kills from Creech and Williams kept things tight at 23-23, but Toledo found a way to take the fourth set 25-23.
- The RedHawks rolled to a 6-2 lead in the fifth set behind four kills, a block and a Kamryn Utley service ace. The Rockets didn't go away easily, as they tied the score at 7-7. Two kills from Creech and two consecutive attack errors from the Rockets put Miami over Toledo at 11-10 with the end of the set approaching. The Rockets scored the final five points of the set to secure a fifth-set win at 15-11.
- Creech (22) and Williams (19) put down the most kills for the RedHawks.
- Warrick and Radaszewski led all players with five blocks.
- Warrick's 132 block assists this season stands at second in Miami history.
- Warrick's 36 solo blocks this season ranks fifth all-time in Miami history.
- Warrick improves to third all-time in Miami history in block assists (348).
- Warrick finishes her Miami career tied for second in total blocks (439) with Kristin Wagner (1989-1992).
