
Miami Welcomes Ball State to Millett Hall Tuesday Night

THIS TUESDAY: The Red and White continue conference play at home against Ball State on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
ABOUT BALL STATE: Ball State went 22-10 and held a 13-5 record in the MAC in 2024. The Cardinals are currently 8-8 after starting conference play 4-0, as they most recently took down Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. Ball State was chosen to finish second in the 2025 MAC Volleyball Coaches Poll. Sophomore outside hitter Carson Tyler and sophomore defensive specialist/libero Sophie Ledbetter were named to the 2025 Preseason All-MAC Team.
Heading into this week's matches, Ball State has numerous players who rank among the top of the MAC statistically. Carson Tyler ranks first in the MAC in kills per set (4.29) and holds the second spot in points per set (4.70). Sophie Ledbetter ranks third in digs per set (3.94), and Lindsey Green is eighth in assists per set (7.92). Noelle VanOort is tenth in kills per set (3.18) and points per set (3.48). Gwen Crull is also ranked 10th in hit percentage (.282).
SERIES WITH THE CARDINALS: The Red and White are 39-48 all-time when taking on the Cardinals. Ball State is currently on a five-match win streak versus Miami. The RedHawks last defeated the Cardinals 3-2 at home on March 23, 2021.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks continue conference play by traveling to Ohio for a pair of matches on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m.
NUMBERS WATCH: Gentry Warrick is currently tied for fourth all-time in Miami history with 1.00 career blocks per set. She holds a total of 75 career solo blocks (sixth all-time in Miami history). Warrick also ranks third in the nation in total blocks (88) and 14th in blocks per set (1.49). Warrick leads the MAC in both total blocks and blocks per set currently. The Red and White stand at eighth in the country in team total blocks (159) as well. Senior Hayden Hicks has recorded a total of 1,992 assists, and senior Lindsay Kahren has 965 digs in her career.
RECENT ACTION: Last week, Miami went 1-1, as it earned a three-set victory over Northern Illinois on Friday. Offensively, junior outside hitter Chelsea Williams recorded 2.50 kills per set while maintaining a .375 hitting percentage. Defensively, Senior libero/defensive specialist Lindsay Kahren totaled 37 digs (5.29 digs/set) and went 42-for-43 (.977) in serve receive. Senior setter Hayden Hicks and sophomore setter Kamryn Utley also made a huge impact on the RedHawks' success, as they combined for 69 assists (9.9 assists/set), helping Miami to 82 kills (11.7 kills/set) on the week.
