Miami Claims Late Tying Goal Against Bowling Green

HAMILTON, Ohio-- The Miami soccer team rallied late to earn a 1-1 draw against Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon in a game played at Ross High School. The RedHawks move to 5-2-4 (1-1-2 in MAC) and Bowling Green is now 5-3-2 (2-1-1 in MAC). Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lexi Czerwein pounced on a ball that was put back into the box after a corner kick to give Bowling Green the lead in the 56th minute.Â
- In the 86th minute, Katie O'Malley put in a shot just inside the 18-yard box that was saved by Payton O'Malley, but the BGSU keeper spilled the ball as she came down with it. Taylor Hamlett buried the rebound to tie the score at 1-1.Â
NOTES
- Hamlett and Makenna Morrison both had three shots.Â
- Hamlett collected her team-leading seventh goal of the season.
- Miami had 12 shots to Bowling Green's four.Â
- Dominique Popa made two saves.Â
