Four RedHawks Honored With All-Ohio Awards

The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association announced its All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio Teams for the 2025 season this week, and four Miami University student-athletes were recognized. Katie O'Malley and Kayla Perfect were named Second-Team All-Ohio, Sophia Penegor was named First-Team Academic All-Ohio and Dominique Popa was named Second-Team Academic All-Ohio.

O'Malley, a First-Team All-MAC selection last season, played in all 19 matches (starting 16) with six goals, five assists and 17 total points. Perfect, who was named Second-Team All-Conference, started every game for Miami and put up four goals, six assists and 14 total points.

Penegor, a CSC Academic All-District honoree and a Second-Team All-MAC player, played every minute of the season and was part of a Miami defense that set a program record for fewest shots allowed in a season. She is majoring in Psychology/Premedical & Pre-Health Studies at Miami. Popa, who was recognized on the MAC All-Tournament Team, tied the program record for most shutouts in a season (11) and most shutouts in a career (23). She is studying Kinesiology at Miami.
