RedHawks Headed to Knoxville Regional

OXFORD, Ohio– On Sunday night, the NCAA released the bracket for the Division I Softball Championship. The Miami University softball team is headed to the Knoxville, Tenn. Regional. The RedHawks are the third seed in this four-team regional and will face the University of Virginia Cavaliers at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

Miami took its fifth consecutive regular-season Mid-American Conference Championship this season (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024). The RedHawks also won their third straight MAC Tournament to clinch their fourth NCAA Tournament bid in a row. 2024 marks Miami's eighth appearance overall in the national tournament.
MAC Coach of the Year Kirin Kumar leads the red-hot RedHawks in her fourth year at the helm. This year, the RedHawks have eight First-Team All-MAC players: Karli Spaid, Holly Blaska, Reagan Bartholomew, Addy Jarvis, Kate Kobayashi, Jenna Golembiewski, Hadley Parisien and Sami Bewick. Bewick, Parisien, and Madilyn Reeves were named to the Freshman All-MAC Team. Spaid was named Conference Player of the Year. Bewick was named Freshman Player of the Year. Reeves was named Freshman Pitcher of the Year.
The RedHawks rank first in the country in runs (503), slugging percentage (.750), home runs (159) and home runs per game (2.89).
