RedHawks Take Down Bulldogs 4-2

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Tuesday evening the Miami University softball team defeated Butler University 4-2. The win moves the Red and White to 29-7 on the season (11-0 Mid-American Conference). The Bulldogs drop to 17-21 (6-10 Big East).

UP NEXT: The RedHawks travel to Akron, Ohio this weekend to play the University of Akron in a three-game series. Game one is slated for April 12 at 3 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Butler took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a RBI single.
- In the top of the fifth the RedHawks snagged the lead when a single from Hadley Parisien scored Reagan Bartholomew, a single from Jenna Golembiewski scored Parisien and a single from Kate Kobayashi scored Golembiewski and Karli Spaid to make it a 4-1 game.
- The Bulldogs cut the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth when a runner successfully stole home.
- The RedHawks held their lead through the end of the seventh to take the game 4-2.
NOTES:
- Madilyn Reeves went the complete game in the circle, striking out seven and allowing just one extra base hit.
- Reagan Bartholomew and Kate Kobayashi went 2-for-4 at the plate.
- This victory extends the RedHawks win-streak to 16 games, tied for third in MAC history with a previous Miami record.
