
Golembiewski Earns Softball America Player of the Month

SOFTBALL AMERICA – On Tuesday morning, Softball America released its national Players and Pitchers for the month of March. Stats are based on March 4 through March 31. Jenna Golembiewski, of the Miami University softball team, received the honor of Player of the Month. Through these dates in the month of March the RedHawks went 13-3, going undefeated at home and in Mid-American Conference play.
The junior batted .500 overall and played in 15 of the RedHawks 16 games. She missed one game only because of injury. She led the RedHawks with this batting average and also led the team in at bats with 52, hits (26), doubles (6), home runs (12), RBI (28 -- over ten more than the next highest on the team), and slugging percentage (1.308). Not leading the team, but still impressive, she secured 20 runs and a .536 on base percentage.
Along with these impressive offensive stats, she also had 26 putouts, two assists and a 1.000 fielding percentage from her position in the outfield.
On the season, Golembiewski ranks nationally in multiple categories. She is tied for first with teammate Karli Spaid in home runs (22) and home runs per game. She's also first in RBI (59) and slugging percentage (1.244). She is fifth in the country in batting average (.489) and runs per game (1.32). She sits in the 13 spot for on base percentage (.552).
