Spaid Named National Player of the Week

D1Softball.com – Karli Spaid, a member of the Miami University softball team, has been named the D1Softball.com National Player of the Week after batting .333 with five home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored.
The senior opened the week with two home runs and three RBI versus No. 1 Oklahoma and added a home run versus Seattle and two more versus Kansas City, helping the RedHawks to a 4-1 record over the weekend.
With her first home run versus the Sooners, Spaid became the Mid-American Conference's all-time home run leader and enters this weekend as the nation's active home run leader with 80 home runs.
Miami, 13-3 on the season, travels to face Jacksonville State in Athens, Ga., on Friday, March 8.
