NIU Edges Miami 1-0 in Series Finale

OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University baseball team dropped a tight 1-0 game Sunday afternoon to Northern Illinois. Three Miami pitchers combined to allow one unearned run on six hits with 10 strikeouts. The RedHawks move to 9-13 (4-5 MAC) on the season.

- NIU scored the game's only run in the bottom of the seventh inning. After Mason Kelley singled and moved to second on an error, Spencer Bartel drove him in with a base hit up the middle.
GAME NOTES
- Ty Batusich went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a walk.
- Starting pitcher Nick Vardavas struck out seven Huskies in 6.2 innings of work.
- Connor Preisel and Lukas Galdoni also saw time on the mound, yielding one hit and no runs between them.
