OXFORD, Ohio— The Cincinnati Bearcats got the best of Miami Wednesday in an 11-3 contest during which the RedHawks were held to just three hits. Miami falls to 7-12 with the loss while Cincinnati moves to 13-9 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Cincinnati scored one run in the top of the first on a fielder's choice to take an early 1-0 lead.
Dillon Baker and David Novak each took an HBP to start the fourth for Miami and advanced on a groundout. Miami's first run of the game came on the next at bat with a wild pitch by Cincinnati that made it a 1-1 game. Ryan Novak then hit a sacrifice fly to score David Novak and give Miami their first lead at 2-1.
The Bearcats bounced back in the fifth, putting up three runs with two outs to take a 4-2 lead. They continued their run in the sixth, putting up four runs on three hits.
Cincinnati tacked on one more in the seventh and two more in the eighth to secure an 11-2 lead.
Baker beat the tag to earn himself a single to lead off the eighth for the Hawks. He then advanced on a passed ball which set up David Novak for an RBI single that brought the score to 11-3.

UP NEXT:
Miami will face Northern Illinois this weekend with a three game series beginning on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m. The games will take place at McKee field in Oxford, however, Miami will be considered the away team for the series.
