KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Miami University volleyball team (7-19, 1-14 MAC) lost a three-set match (17-25, 18-25, 11-25) to Western Michigan (16-11, 12-4) Saturday evening at University Arena.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Gentry Warrick and Gracie Norris began play by each recording a kill to keep the RedHawks within two at 8-6. Ana Vetter smacked a kill down and then used a service ace to trail 16-10. Caroline Cermack recorded a trio of late kills before Western Michigan took the first set 25-17.
• The second set started with close play, as Chelsea Williams put down a kill to tie the score at 4-4. With the Broncos leading 10-5, Warrick and Vetter combined for a block, and Vetter followed this up with a service ace to trail by three at 10-7. Williams hit back-to-back kills to stay within striking distance at 19-14. Western Michigan led 24-16 when Cermack hit a pair of kills and Margo Lawson had a service ace, but the offensive push wasn't enough as the Broncos secured a 25-18 win.
• Cermack got the RedHawk offense going in the third set with a kill and service ace at the start. A Williams kill evened things up at six apiece. The Broncos went on to find their rhythm, sealing the set 25-11. 

 
NOTES:

• Norris led Miami with 28 assists.
• Vetter had the match-high two service aces.
