YPSILANTI, Mich. — The Miami University volleyball team (6-8, 0-3 MAC) fell in three sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) to Eastern Michigan (9-9, 3-1 MAC) Friday night at George Gervin GameAbove Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Lydia Michelin opened the first set with a pair of kills to put the score at 2-1. The Eagles attempted to pull away, but the Raegan Lantz knocked down two kills to make it a one-point set at 11-10. A kill from Chelsea Williams evened the score at 15-15 as the end of the set approached. Eastern Michigan found its flow to close out the first set with a 25-20 victory.
• Miami came out red hot at the start of the second set, commanding a 5-0 lead thanks to numerous attack errors from the Eagles. A block from Ana Vetter and Michelin put the RedHawks ahead 7-1 before Eastern Michigan battled their way back to tie the set at 13 apiece. A couple of late kills brought Miami within five at 24-19, but the Eagles went on to seal the set at 25-19.
• The Eagles got off to a 9-4 start in the third set. A kill from Gentry Warrick kept Miami within three at 10-7. Eastern Michigan looked to close the set out at 21-13, but Miami stayed resilient, taking advantage of numerous attack and serving errors to come within five at 23-18. The effort from the Red and White fell just short, losing the set 25-21.
