RedHawks Race Past Lindenwood 4-1

OXFORD, Ohio– The Miami University hockey team defeated Lindenwood 4-1 Saturday, as Ethan Dahlmeir picked up his first career victory in net. Christophe Fillion led the RedHawks (3-3-2) offensively with two points. The Lions drop to 2-4-0 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 5:30 1st (Miami 1-0) | Frankie Carogioiello knocked a shot in off the pipe early in the first period to give the Red and White a 1-0 lead. Spencer Cox started the play behind the RedHawks' net, sending the puck ahead for Fillion on a 1-on-2 break. Fillion laid a pass off to a trailing Carogioiello for the game's first goal.
  • 19:11 1st (Lindenwood 1-1) | The visitors evened the score just before the first intermission. Joe Prouty found Jake Southgate on the left wing, and his backdoor pass connected with Drew Kuzma. Kuzma tipped home the equalizer to make it 1-1.
  • 16:17 2nd (Miami 2-1) | Casper Nassen hammered a one-timer on a power play to regain the lead for the RedHawks at 2-1. Ryan Sullivan won the faceoff and managed to work it to Michael Quinn, who held it in the zone and exchanged a pair of passes with Nassen, eventually setting him up for a blast from the left circle.
  • 11:31 3rd (Miami 3-1) | Midway through the final period, Raimonds Vitolins snagged the puck while the RedHawks were shorthanded, converting a breakaway to up the Miami lead to 3-1.
  • 18:30 3rd (Miami 4-1) | The Red and White put the game out of reach with 1:30 to play, scoring on Lindenwood's empty net. After Dahlmeir swatted the puck forward, Johnny Waldron tipped it ahead to set up Fillion for the finish.
