Miami Hosts Lindenwood to Begin Homestand
10/23/2024 3:33:00 PM | Hockey
Miami Hockey begins a four-game homestand this weekend with a non-conference series against Lindenwood. The RedHawks come in at 2-2-2 after dropping both ends of a home-and-home series to Robert Morris last week (5-1 in Oxford Thursday, 4-1 at RMU on Saturday). The Lions are 1-3-0 and have lost three straight since a win at then-No. 9 Wisconsin on Oct. 11 to open the regular season. Last week, Lindenwood was swept at Air Force by scores of 3-2 and 2-1. These will be the first-ever meetings between the RedHawks and Lions.
This week's games are set for Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26 at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena in Oxford, with puck drop at 7:05 p.m. both nights. The games will stream on NCHC.tv, with radio coverage on MiamiRedHawks.com Friday and WMOH 1450 AM The Ticket (Hamilton, Ohio) Saturday. Greg Waddell and Drew Davis have the call.
Colby Ambrosio leads the RedHawks with seven points (2-5-7). Matt Choupani and Casper Nassen also share the team lead in goals with two apiece. Ambrosio and Raimonds Vitolins top the Red and White with five assists each. Sophomore goaltender Bruno Bruveris has started five of Miami's six games in net, posting a 2.85 GAA and .905 save percentage with a 2-2-1 record.
Nassen and head coach Anthony Noreen met with the media this week to preview the games against the Lions.
