RedHawks Fall to No. 10 WMU 4-1

OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University hockey team fell 4-1 to No. 10/10 Western Michigan on Friday night at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena. Dylan Moulton scored his second goal of the season for the RedHawks (6-11-2, 0-8-1 NCHC), while Logan Neaton stopped 35 shots from the Broncos (14-4-1, 5-4-0 NCHC).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • 9:21 1st (WMU 1-0) | Sam Colangelo's slap shot at the top of the faceoff circle off a pass from Carter Berger scored a power play goal for the Broncos to give them a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. Ethan Phillips also recorded an assist on the play.
  • 9:04 3rd (WMU 2-0) | The Broncos doubled their lead to 2-0 when Dylan Wendt put the puck just out of Neaton's reach so that Luke Grainger could scoop it up and send to Zak Galambos, who got the goal.
  • 12:35 3rd (Miami 2-1) | Moulton cut the deficit to 2-1 just three and a half minutes later. Matthew Barbolini made a centering pass that Albin Nilsson touched across the crease to Moulton, who promptly deposited it to the back of the net.
  • 16:30 3rd (WMU 3-1) | Matteo Costantini produced WMU's second power-play tally off of assists from Berger and Colangelo to give the visitors an insurance goal.
  • 18:36 3rd (WMU 4-1) | Galambos scored again, this time on an empty net, off a pass from Tim Washe to conclude the scoring.
