Miami Baseball Announces 14 Additions to Roster

Miami Baseball head coach Brian Smiley has announced the addition of 14 student-athletes to his program ahead of the 2024 season.
 
Ty Batusich, Lukas Galdoni, Tyler Gordon, Kaito Hara, Ahmad Harajli, Nolan Hollis, Tré Keels, Chase Mazey, Ryan Novak, Peyton Olejnik, Cole Pauley, Jack Paulus, Alex Stanwich and Anthony Zarlingo join previously announced signees Garrison Barile, Greyson Chappel, and Justin Gorski.
 
"Certainly a good job on recruiting and finishing this year's class," said Smiley. "Coaches Bailey Montgomery, Larry Scully and Kyle Trewyn have given Miami Baseball strong consideration to compete and win the conference this year."
 
Ty Batusich, C, 6'0", 190, Junior, Joliet, Ill./Joliet West/Western Kentucky
 
PRIOR TO MIAMI
  • Spent previous two seasons with Western Kentucky University
  • Named C-USA Hitter of Week in March 2022 and to C-USA All-Freshman Team at end of freshman season
  • Led Hilltoppers with 34 RBI and .484 slugging percentage in 2022
  • Owns a .268 college batting average and 31 extra-base hits in 99 appearances (95 starts) for WKU
  • Slashed .519/.669/1.086 with 10 homers and 38 RBI as a high school senior
  • Named All-State, All-Conference and conference MVP in high school

Lukas Galdoni, RHP, 6'4", 245, Grad Student, Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Carmel Catholic/Butler
 
PRIOR TO MIAMI
  • Spent past four seasons with Butler University
  • Made 37 appearances on the mound in his career with the Bulldogs, including nine starts in 2023
  • Owns 69 career strikeouts with 2-4 record and four saves in 82.1 innings pitched for Butler
  • Scored 20 runs and drove in 17 for BU with four doubles and five homers
  • Previously helped Carmel Catholic win three high school regional championships, reaching 20+ wins in each season
  • Tabbed all-conference, all-area, all-county and the team's defensive player of the year

  • Produced a .344 batting average with Vanguard to go along with 15 steals and nine extra-base hits
  • Tallied season-high five hits with four runs scored in Feb. 2023 game vs. Arizona Christian
  • Hit .301 as a high school senior with six steals as team won Boras Classic Championship

  • Made 20 appearances (three starts) with 35 strikeouts in 27.1 IP last spring for Wolverines
  • Struck out a career-high seven hitters in four innings of work against UCLA (March 2023)
  • Recorded one save in 17 relief appearances for Michigan during 2022 season
