13-Year Pro Michael Bramos Announces Retirement

OXFORD, Ohio āĀ Former Miami basketball standout Michael Bramos (2005-09) announced his retirement in a joint release with Umana Reyer. Bramos has spent his last 13 seasons playing professional basketball overseas, most recently and primarily in a Reyer jersey.
Bramos ranks eighth all-time in Miami history with 1,515 career points. He also sits at third all-time in blocked shots (130) and career free throw percentage (.825). A strong shooter from beyond the arc, Bramos also finished fourth in three-point field goals (198).
A two-time team captain, Bramos was named All-MAC Second Team his junior season and All-MAC First Team his senior year. In his final season, he averaged 17.9 points and won the 2009 MAC Player of the Year. He was a part of the last RedHawk team to make the NCAA Tournament in the 2006-07 season.
In 2009 he joined Peristeri, a member of the Greek Basketball League. The following year, he played for Gran Canaria of the Spanish ACB League. In 2012 he inked a deal with Panathinaikos. While playing for them, Bramos won the Greek National Cup back-to-back years in 2013 and 2014. After dealing with a foot injury in 2014, Bramos joined Umana Reyer Venezia of the LBA in 2015. He would go on to help Reyer Venice win the 2016-17 Greek National Championship, 2018 FIBA Europe Cup, 2018-19 Greek National Championship and the 2020 Italian National Cup.
