RedHawks Take Fifth at MAC Championship

ATHENS, Ala.— Miami took fifth at the 2023 MAC Championship tournament after finishing 18 above par (293-291-298– 882) through three rounds. Danny Fisher led the team, completing his 2022-2023 campaign with a season-best three-round score of 212, which earned him sole possession of second place individually out of more than 40 golfers and placed him on the All-Tournament Team.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Fisher (71-71-70–212) shot two below par during his final round, which included seven birdies. He was the only player in the tournament to shoot below par in all three rounds and was one of just two players to shoot below par cumulatively on par fours. His three-round score for the tournament was four below par.
  • Sam West (72-75-75–222) finished three above par during the final round, making four birdies on the day. He tied for 16th place overall.
  • Jack Ebner (74-70-80–224) finished eight over par in the final round, where he made 12 pars. He was also named the Earl Yestingsmeier Sportsmanship Award Recipient for the 2022-23 season by the MAC following the tournament.
  • Brett Podobinski (76-75-76–227) was four above par during round three and finished 11 over par through three rounds.
  • The RedHawks' team score put them in sole possession of fifth place out of nine participating schools.
 
UP NEXT:
Miami's 2023 spring season has finished. The RedHawks will return to action in the fall of 2023.
