RedHawks Drop Series Finale Against EMU

YPSILANTI, Mich.— The Miami University baseball team dropped game three against Eastern Michigan with a final score of 8-1 Sunday. The RedHawks' season record moves to 9-24 (6-9 MAC). The Eagles are now 13-15 (5-10 MAC).

The RedHawks got on the board quickly, scoring one run in the first inning. The Eagles broke it open with a six-run inning in the fourth to take the lead for good.


HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Starting off the game with a bang, Brian Zapp led off with a triple to center field. Cooper Weiss grounded out to the shortstop, but Zapp scored to put the RedHawks on the board first, making it 1-0 RedHawks after one inning of work.

  • The Eagles tied it up in the second inning, capitalizing on walks.

  • EMU had an offensive explosion in the fourth inning, scoring six times en route to a 7-1 lead.

  • EMU tacked on one final run in the fifth to make the final score 8-1 Eagles.
