MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.-- The Miami University baseball team fell to the Central Michigan Chippewas by the score of 3-2 Sunday. The RedHawks drop to 15-31 (10-14 MAC) while the Chippewas improve to 29-14 (15-6 MAC).
Miami and Central Michigan's series finale matchup was an extra-inning thriller. The two teams duked it out for 16 innings, but Miami fell just short of a win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Chippewas got on the board first, scoring one run in the bottom of the second and making it 1-0 CMU.

In the top of the third, Miami answered with a Stephen Krause solo home run to left field to tie it up at 1-1.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Chippewas took the lead, scoring one run and making it 2-1 CMU.

In the top of the eighth, Evan Appelwick singled to left center and advanced to second when Zach MacDonald reached base after being hit by pitch. Krause singled through the right side to score Appelwick and tie it back up at 2-2.

After seven scoreless innings for both teams, the Chippewas walked it off in the 16th inning, winning 3-2.
