MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.-- The Miami University baseball team defeated the Central Michigan Chippewas by the score of 3-2 Saturday. The RedHawks improve to 15-30 (10-13 MAC) while the Chippewas drop to 28-14 (14-6 MAC).
Miami struck first in the second inning. The matchup was tight, with few hits per team through the whole game. The RedHawks maintained the lead to claim their victory, snapping CMU's 11-game win streak.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

In the top of the second, David Novak got things started with a solo home run to left field. Dillon Baker reached base next via walk. Nate Stone followed up with a two-run shot to center field to put the RedHawks up 3-0.

In the bottom half of the second, the Chippewas got on the board with small ball, scoring one and making it 3-1 RedHawks.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Chippewas narrowed the deficit and scored one, making it 3-2 RedHawks for the final score of the game.
