Men's Basketball Welcomes Darweshi Hunter to the Program

Miami University head men's basketball coachĀ Travis SteeleĀ announced the addition of one new student-athlete to the program. Darweshi Hunter will join the Miami family for the 2023-24 campaign.

PRIOR TO MIAMI:
- Averaged 6.4 points, 0.6Ā assists and 2.8 rebounds during his previous two seasons at Northern Illinois University
- Spent the 2020-21 season at Weber State where he averaged 2.9 points, 1.0 assists and 0.6 rebounds
- Played for Division II Central State during his freshman year where he averaged 20.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.8 assists
- Division II Conference Commissioners Associations (D2CCA) All-South Region First Team
- All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) First Team honors
- SIAC Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year

We had a chance to compete versus Darweshi twice last year, and I was extremely impressed with him as a player," saidĀ Steele. "He is a proven commodity in our league on both ends of the floor. He adds a lot of versatility to our roster."Ā
