HOW IT HAPPENED
- 4:28 2nd (Miami 1-0) | After dominating the opening period of play, the RedHawks got on the scoreboard in the second period with Demsey's first career goal. The sophomore defenseman started the play with a long pass ahead to the offensive blue line, where PJ Fletcher gathered the puck in and dropped it off to John Waldron in the neutral zone. Waldron skated it forward and laid off a feed to a trailing Demsey, who found the back of the net.
- 18:26 3rd (Miami 2-0) | After killing off a late Niagara power play, Miami scored on an empty net to stretch its lead to 2-0. Artur Turansky won the puck behind the cage and worked it free to Hallén, who battled in front to slide it across the goal line and double Miami's advantage.
- 18:36 3rd (Miami 3-0) | On the ensuing faceoff, Rydqvist put the game out of reach with an insurance goal. Raimonds Vitolins won the draw at center ice to Rydqvist, who promptly deposited the puck in the still-empty net to give the Red and White a 3-0 cushion.
