Miami to Face Off With No. 13/16 Arizona State For First Time

Miami welcomes No. 13/16 Arizona State to Steve "Coach" Cady Arena for a non-conference series this weekend. This will be the teams' first-ever meetings, although the RedHawks and Sun Devils should see more of each other in the future with the news this summer that Arizona State will become the ninth member of the NCHC in 2024.

After a weekend off, the RedHawks come into the series 3-1-0 overall and riding a three-game winning streak. Miami split at Ferris State to open the season, following that up with a sweep of Canisius in Oxford. ASU is 4-0-0 after home sweeps of Merrimack (1-0 in OT, 4-2) and Northern Michigan (3-2, 5-1).

This weekend's games are set for Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28, with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m. both nights. The games can be streamed on NCHC.tv, with Miami's radio broadcast airing on MiamiRedHawks.com. Greg Waddell (play-by-play) and Drew Davis (analyst) will have the call.

Five different RedHawks have multiple goals this year, led by Matthew Barbolini's three. Barbolini has six points this season (3-3-6), followed by John Waldron (2-3-5) and Artur Turansky (2-3-5). William Hallén (0-4-4) has a team-high four assists. Logan Neaton is 3-1-0 between the pipes with a 2.46 GAA and a .919 save percentage for Miami.

Head coach Chris Bergeron and senior defenseman Hampus Rydqvist met with the media this week to preview the matchup against Arizona State.
