BROOKINGS, S.D. — The Miami University golf team finished in sixth place at Island Resort Intercollegiate Invitational at South Dakota State with a 54 hole score of 872 (295-283-294).
Cameron Pero led the squad for the second day in a row, staying even during the final round.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pero recorded a birdie on six of the final 10 holes during the final round. His overall score (74-67-72--213) for all three rounds was three under par, allowing him to finish tied for ninth individually overall.
- Danny Fisher (71-72--75--218) recorded 14 pars in a row to begin his round and finished three over on the day.
- Jack Ebner (76-73--73--222) finished one over during the final round, recording three birdies.
- Sam West (75-72-74--221), Brett Podobinski (75-72-77--224), and Sam Mortell (79-75-79--233) each recorded three birdies during the third round and finished two, five, and seven over, respectively.
- The RedHawks were the only team to shoot under par on the par threes, recording an overall score of four under par on these holes.
- The RedHawks totaled 294 strokes, shooting a team score of six above par.
