OXFORD, Ohio--Goaltender Carter McPhail has joined the Miami Hockey program for the 2022-23 season, head coach Chris Bergeron announced this week.
McPhail, a 5-foot-11 native of Fenton, Mich., comes to Miami after playing three seasons for Ferris State University. He posted a 2.74 goals against average and .920 save percentage during the 2021-22 season. McPhail's first career college start actually came in Oxford against Miami during the 2019-20 season. McPhail played junior hockey with the Johnstown Tomahawks (NAHL), where he set records for wins, GAA (2.12), and save percentage (.931) in 2018-19.
"We are excited to add Carter to our program," Bergeron said. "We think his college hockey experience will bring depth to our goaltending group."
The RedHawks open the 2022-23 season on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena against Ferris State.
