TOLEDO, Ohio -- Behind 14 hits and five homeruns, the Miami University softball team picked up a 12-3 win over the University of Toledo (8-23, 1-9 MAC) on Wednesday afternoon. With the three-game sweep of the Rockets, the RedHawks improve to 18-12 overall and 9-2 in MAC play.

How it Happened:
- Eight different RedHawks picked up hits and Karli Spaid, Holly Blaska, Shelby Kunkel, Adriana Barlow and Maggie Murphy registered home runs in the win.
- Both teams scored in the first before a two-run homer from Spaid and an RBI single from Kunkel pushed Miami's advantage to 4-1 after three innings of play.
- After Toledo homered in the fourth, a Kate Kobayashi double brought home Spaid and Blaska's home run made it 6-2 Miami in the top of the fifth.
- The Rockets made it 6-3 after five innings of play before the RedHawks scored six runs in the sixth to capture the win. Barlow and Murphy opened the inning with back-to-back home runs. Kobayashi picked up an RBI with her third double of the game and Kunkel's three-run blast to center field made it 12-3.
- Courtney Vierstra picked up her eighth win of the season, striking out six Rockets in six innings of action.
