OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University baseball team dropped a 7-3 decision to the Ohio University Bobcats on Friday afternoon. The RedHawks drop to 17-24 (12-16 MAC) while the Bobcats improved to 19-17 (11-10 MAC).
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• In the bottom of the third, trailing 2-0, William Escala tripled to right-center field. The following at-bat Nick Neibauer drove in Escala, cutting the Bobcat lead in half.
• In the bottom of the seventh, trailing 6-1, Escala reached base on a hit by pitch, shortly after Benji Brokemond reached base, putting runners on first and second. The following at-bat Zach MacDonald drove in both Escala and Brokemond with an RBI single, cutting the deficit to 6-3.

 
Miami Game Notes:

• Brokemond went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
• MacDonald went 1-for-3 with two RBI and an outfield assist.
• Parker Lester went 2-for-4 with a double.
• Escala reached base twice with a triple and two runs scored.

            The RedHawks continue their series with Ohio University Saturday, April 30 with a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
