RICHMOND, Ky. – The Miami softball team traveled to take on Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday evening. After a slow start, the RedHawks scored six runs in the fifth and four more in the seventh, for an 11-1 win over EKU. Miami has now lost just once in its last 16 games and sits at 29-13-1 overall and 17-3 in Mid-American Conference play. - Miami struck first in the top of the fourth after an RBI single from Holly Blaska put the RedHawks up 1-0.
- EKU immediately answered in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game at one run apiece. However, the RedHawks' offensive attack couldn't be stopped.
- In the top of the fifth, Miami produced a six-run flurry that included an RBI double from Allie Cummins and two two-run home runs from Spaid and Blaska, extending Miami's lead to 7-1.
