With the help of nine hits and three home runs, along with stellar pitching from
Courtney Vierstra, the Miami University softball team (21-12, 12-2 MAC) picked up an 8-0 victory over Western Michigan (1-21, 4-7) on Monday afternoon. The win completes a three game sweep for the Red and White.

How it Happened:
- Miami opened the contest with three runs in the first. Holly Blaska, Shelby Kunkel and Maggie Murphy all added an RBI to spot Miami a 3-0 advantage.
- A solo shot from Chloe Parks in the second made it 4-0 and a double to center field in the third off the bat from Murphy increased Miami's lead, 5-0.
- Karli Spaid knocked a two-run homer over the right field fence in the fourth and Lily Wilmot ended the contest with a walk-off homer to straight away center for the 8-0 victory.
- Courtney Vierstra did the rest. The senior allowed just two hits while striking out three for the complete game shutout.
