BUFFALO, NY – Ivy Wolf (22) and
Peyton Scott (19) combined for 41 points, but it wasn't enough as the Miami University women's basketball team (8-17, 4-12 MAC) dropped an 83-71 decision to the University at Buffalo on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Arena. Dyaisha Fair led the Bulls (18-8, 12-4 MAC) with 36 points.
How it Happened:
- A Scott layup knotted the game at 6-6 early, but an ensuing 11-0 Buffalo run pushed UB's lead to 17-6. The Bulls led 20-12 after 10 minutes of play.
- Scott and Wolf combined for 14 points in the second quarter as Miami trimmed the deficit to four and trailed 39-35 at the half.
- Edyn Battle's layup at 8:33 of the third cut UB's lead to 40-39 before the Bulls answered with an 11-2 run, forcing a DeUnna Hendrix timeout. Following the timeout, Miami outscored the Bulls by six and trailed 65-61 entering the final stanza.
- Battle tied the score at 65-65 with a layup at 8:18 of the fourth, but Buffalo countered with an 11-0 run to reclaim an 11-point advantage. Miami got as close as 78-71.
Game Notes:
- Ivy Wolf matched her career-best in points (22) and assists (6). She added six rebounds and connected on four three pointers versus the Bulls.
- With 19 points, Scott now has 1,373 career points. She added 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
