HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 0:34 1st (Miami 1-0) | Miami wasted no time getting on the board. During the game's first shift, a quick-developing 3-on-2 led to Red Savage feeding Matthew Barbolini heading into Omaha's zone. Fletcher took Barbolini's diagonal pass and deposited a one-timer in the back of the net for an opening-minute tally.
- 12:13 1st (Omaha 1-1) | The Mavericks responded later in the period with a power-play equalizer. With possession in Miami's zone, Omaha traded the puck between Kevin Conley, Tyler Weiss and Jonny Tychonick. Tychonick landed the final touch on the puck, with it just sliding past Persson for the tying goal.
- 14:36 1st (Miami 2-1) | Miami re-took the lead in a matter of minutes. Alec Capstick passed ahead to Jack Clement near Omaha's blue line, with Clement firing long and around the boards to position the puck at the right of the goal. Gresock quickly came around to fire it into the net from a tricky angle, securing the 2-1 goal to put the RedHawks back on top.
- 2:02 2nd (Miami 3-1) | Miami doubled the margin with a goal early in the middle period. While moving around Omaha's zone, Scott Corbett passed behind him to Hampus Rydqvist, who fed the puck across to Ryan Savage. With the Mavericks' goalie occupying the right side, Savage had a clear shot from the left and rocketed it in to put the RedHawks up 3-1.
- 8:21 2nd (Omaha 3-2) | Omaha struck on the power play for the second time, as Matt Miller and Conley moved the puck behind Miami's net, sending it to the right corner. Cameron Berg retrieved it there and scored to pull the Mavericks within 3-2.
- 19:49 3rd (Miami 4-2) | The Mavericks pulled their goalie late in the third period trying for a comeback, but Gresock won a battle for the puck in the final 30 seconds of the game and drove it down the ice one-on-one. Gresock was tripped right in front of the goal, and the resulting empty-net penalty awarded Gresock his second goal of the game, wrapping up a 4-2 victory for the Red and White.
