OXFORD, Ohio— The RedHawks (6-17) fell in a four-set match to Toledo (15-8), 25-18, 16-25, 21-25, 23-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a 3-3 start in the opening set, the RedHawks scored four straight kills. Ellie Hanson scored two of the four kills to propel the RedHawk offense. This gave Miami a 7-3 lead early in the first set. Toledo hung around, trailing 10-13 as the middle of the set approached. The Red and White answered by scoring four straight kills once again, Maggie McCrary recording two of them. Miami then led 17-10, shortly after the Rockets made their final push closing the lead to 20-17. A pair of kills from Gentry Warrick helped seal a 25-18 set win for Miami.

The second set began with back-and-forth action, the score tied at 9-9 as the second half approached. The Rockets were then able to go on a 6-2 run, taking a 15-11 lead. Miami stayed resilient, closing within two at 14-16. Toledo maintained their lead, closing the set with a 25-16 win.

Toledo took a 4-0 lead heading into the third set. A pair of kills from Warrick and Hanson helped end the run, bringing the RedHawks within two. Miami continued to fight, trailing 8-10 towards the middle of the set. Toledo responded with three straight kills to stretch their lead to 13-8. The Rockets did their best to hold on to the lead as the end of the set approached. Two kills from Brooke Jackson and Abby Stratford helped shrink this lead to 18-16. Despite the effort, the Rockets finished the set with a 25-21 win.

The fourth set was a battle, no team leading by more than one point until Toledo pulled ahead 11-9. The Rockets were then able to extend this lead to 16-11.
