OXFORD, Ohio - Miami's Matt Barry scored to give the RedHawks an early 1-0 lead, but Colorado College responded with five consecutive goals, four in the second period, to post a 5-1 win at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena Friday night.
 
After the Tigers (5-11-3, 2-6-1 NCHC) tied the game early in the middle period, CC struck for three more goals in the space of less than three minutes to break the game open.
 
Logan Neaton made the start in net for Miami (4-14-1, 1-8-0 NCHC), making 17 saves, with Ludvig Persson taking over midway through the second period and stopping eight of the nine shots he faced.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• 7:57 1st (Miami 1-0) | Miami grabbed the first goal of the game early in the first period, with Nick Donato recovering the puck in the Colorado College zone and sending it to Matt Barry in front of the goal. Barry was able to slip it in and secure the 1-0 lead for the RedHawks.
• 1:28 2nd (Colorado College 1-1) | A slashing call on Miami helped the Tigers pick up their first goal of the game at the start of the second period, with Logan Will sending the puck to Bryan Yoon and setting up Hunter McKown to tie the game 1-1 on the power play.
• 8:04 2nd (Colorado College 2-1) | Colorado College pulled ahead with another goal before the halfway point of the period. After a turnover in Miami's zone resulted in a high shot over the goal from Patrick Cozzi, Hugo Blixt recovered the puck off a deflection from Tommy Middleton and sent it past Neaton to push the Tigers to a 2-1 advantage.
• 9:23 2nd (Colorado College 3-1) | Back-to-back penalty calls on Miami put CC in a five-on-three situation, which allowed the Tigers to extend their lead. A faceoff victory in the Miami zone sent the puck moving from Nicklas Andrews to Danny Weight and finally to Tyler Coffey, whose goal gave CC a 3-1 lead.
• 10:58 2nd (Colorado College 4-1) | While CC still had a man advantage, the Andrews-Weight-Coffey combination struck one more time just 95 seconds later. Coffey had the finish again, making the score 4-1.
• 4:44 3rd (Colorado College 5-1) | CC finished the scoring with an unassisted goal from Coffey in the third period, as he intercepted a Miami pass and completed a hat trick.

 
GAME NOTES:

• Donato's assist was the freshman defenseman's first career point.
• Miami outshot the visitors 37-30.
• The Tigers were 2-4 on the power play, while the RedHawks went 0-7.
• Barry's goal was his fifth of the season and gives him 50 points for his college career.
